Charity seeking four-star volunteers
16 September 2008
Sheffield Royal Society for
the Blind (SRSB) is on the look out for glamorous waiters and
waitresses to help in a special entertainments evening for its
members.
The charity has teamed up with the CSV youth volunteering
project Agents4Change to put on the event, which will include a
black and white dinner for the centre''s blind and partially
sighted members.
SRSB's dining and entertainment evening is part of an ongoing
fundraising effort to help pay for a purpose-built centre for the
charity.
Appealing to potential volunteers, Agents4Change co-ordinator in
Sheffield Annie Thompson said the event was "a unique opportunity
to get involved in supporting a fantastic local charity" while also
"having some fun into the bargain".
SRSB was founded in 1860 and aims to help all of those suffering
from visual impairments, whether registered or not.
The society provides welfare, training, education, counselling,
care and recreation services to members, including a lunch club and
day trips.
