ArrowStep-by-step guide

With the help of our step-by-step guide and online toolkit you can ensure your scheme is a real success with staff.

Step 1 - Focus your launch

Make the most of your launch by giving it a focus. You could combine it with the announcement of your charity of the year or a television appeal such as Comic Relief.

Step 2 - Teasers

Run a teaser campaign to get employees interested in Give As You Earn. Get their attention by using our teaser items including: posters, canteen tray liners, menu cards, and more.

Consider using paid for promotional items such as balloons, notepads, lanyards and pens.

Step 3 - Show your support

Children runningBuy-in and support from senior management is vital when encouraging staff to join Give As You Earn. Many organisations match staff donations, or pay the administration fee. It helps to include a letter from the MD or CEO to show your organisation’s commitment to supporting employees’ charitable giving.

Step 4 - The big day

Set aside a day to really push and promote the scheme. Have a central area where employees can sign up and put posters round the building. Recruit staff volunteers to collect the completed Donor instruction forms from their colleagues. If you have a staff charity of the year then why not get them involved in the promotion?

FamilyStep 5 - Follow it up

Ensure you thank your staff – use our payslip covers and put our thank you posters around the building to inform employees of the success of the promotion.

Step 6 - Keep it up

Keep staff updated about your scheme and what’s happening via communication channels such as email, intranet, newsletters and posters. Ensure information is available on Give As You Earn to all new staff in their induction packs, as it is a valuable staff benefit.
