Oxjam to host performances from Fatboy Slim, Editors and VV
Brown
2 September 2009
A host of famous bands,
singers and DJs will play at a charity fundraising gig in London,
it has been announced.
Fatboy Slim, VV Brown, Basement Jaxx, Editors, Just Jack and
Nitin Sawhney will perform at Oxjam, set to take place in a
converted Oxfam shop.
Tickets for the secret venue will be strictly limited to 150 and
are expected to go on sale at 09:00 GMT this Friday 4 September,
priced at £25.
Editors lead singer Tom Smith commented: "Putting on shows in
Oxfam's high street stores is a great idea.
"These places are part of everyone's daily lives these days, so
come September they''ll also be the hottest ticket in town."
The musician added that the shop would also open as an Oxfam
outlet for a week, selling second-hand music during the day.
Oxjam has raised over £1 million for the charity since it was
launched in 2006, enough money to secure safe water sources for
some 1.3 million people.
