Arsenal players dress up for Great Ormond Street charity
drive
19 November 2009
A group of famous
footballers have donned furry costumes to raise money for Great Ormond
Street Hospital (Gosh).
Arsenal's Theo Walcott, Andrey Arsharvin, Bacary Sagna and Cesc
Fabregas have recorded a short promotional video featuring their
fancy dress fundraising attempts on the streets of London as part
of the team's Be a Gooner, Be A Giver charity drive.
All players on the team will also donate their wages from their
Premier League clash with Chelsea on 29 November to Gosh.
Captain Cesc Fabregas said: "This advert is a bit of fun for the
players and we hope supporters enjoy it, but there is a very real
message in it about helping this hospital and we hope to raise lots
of money for this worthwhile cause."
Manager Arsene Wenger encouraged all Arsenal supporters to do
what they can towards the fundraising event.
In other news, contestants from TV talent show the X Factor have
recorded a rendition of the late Michael Jackson''s You Are Not
Alone in aid of Gosh.
