CAF teams up with The Sun’s Helping Haiti Appeal

27 January 2010

Simon CowellThe Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) has teamed up with Britain’s most popular daily newspaper, The Sun, to help the victims of the earthquake in Haiti. CAF will be managing funds raised by The Sun’s readers and through the sale of the Sun’s soon to be released charity single for Haiti.

The cover of REM’s ‘Everybody Hurts’ is masterminded by Simon Cowell and features an array of pop stars including Take That, Kylie Minogue, Robbie Williams, Leona Lewis and James Blunt. Profits from the single will be split between the Disaster Emergency Committee’s appeal and The Sun’s Helping Haiti Appeal which will enable both short term relief and longer term assistance for Haiti.

James White, Company Relations Manager at CAF says, “The Sun’s appeal has been incredibly successful showing again the enormous generosity of their readers. We’re very happy to work with The Sun to distribute funds from the Helping Haiti Appeal to charities working to help rebuild the lives of the survivors.

“This money is going to make a big difference to the people of Haiti today and in the future.”

The Sun's Managing Editor Graham Dudman said, “We've been overwhelmed by the extraordinary response from our readers. We are delighted to have joined forces with the Charities Aid Foundation. This insures every penny donated will be looked after by CAF and go to where it is needed: in Haiti.”
