Your legacy to charity

Old couple sitting on benchLeaving a gift to charity in your will is an amazing way for your generosity to last beyond your own lifetime. We can make arranging a charitable legacy easy and flexible.

How does it work?

All you have to do is make a gift to CAF in your will, and let us know which charities you wish us to pass your gift on to.

This service is flexible because it allows you to change your list of beneficiaries at any time without needing to update your will. As a bonus, any sum of money you leave to charity is exempt from Inheritance Tax , reducing the amount of tax payable on your estate .

When the time comes, we'll make sure your chosen charities get the money you’ve left to them. Or if you'd prefer, the legacy can go into a charitable trust, to be managed by your successors.

Why not just use your will?

The key to the CAF Legacy Service is flexibility. If you want to change your will, you have to make an appointment with your solicitor to change it. But if you have a Legacy Account, you can change your charities and amounts at any time, without charge.

We can provide you with suggested clauses for your solicitor to include in your will, and even help you choose the charities that will benefit from your gift. You can ask us to pay to any recognised UK charity, including schools, churches and hospitals.
