St Albans City Youth F.C. founded in 1971 has grown steadily over the years to the point were it is now one of the largest Youth Football Clubs in the area.. In early 2001 St Albans City Youth Football Club received a tremendous boost from the Football Association with its successful application for accreditation as a Charter Standard Development Club The award, one of the first in Hertfordshire, and the first in St Albans is the Football Associations Quality Mark for football clubs
