Holme Valley Mountain Rescue Team is a search and rescue organisation which operates in West Yorkshire, covering not only open moorland but all urban areas. It assists West Yorkshire Police in searching for missing vulnerable people and Yorkshire Ambulance Service with calls to remote areas regarding injured people. Assistance is also provided during adverse weather conditions. Team members are on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The Team can also provide this assistance, along with other rescue teams, across the country. Holme Valley Mountain Rescue Team also promotes safety and best practice on the hill by way of talks and lectures to local organisations. All team members are unpaid volunteers who provide all their own personal equipment. Mountain Rescue services within the UK are free of charge and available to all.
