Jacari

Jacari is an award-winning charity providing free tutoring and extracurricular activities for migrant, asylum-seeking, and refugee children in Bristol and Oxford who have English as an Additional Language (EAL) and are struggling at school. We work with a team of volunteers, most of whom are students at local universities, who tutor EAL pupils weekly during term-time, helping to build their confidence and language skills. We also organise regular trips and activities for the young people we support and their families so they can practise their English in a relaxed environment and visit local attractions they may not otherwise have access to.
