The Trust provides educational facilities for primary schoolchildren in the poor fishing village of Kovalam near Madras. It was set up in memory of Venkat, whose education was sponsored by one of the trustees, and who through determination and hard work was able to graduate from Madras University. Tragically he was killed in a road accident aged 27. The Trust's aim is to enable children in Kovalam and eventually in other schools in the area to have the same opportunity as Venkat.
