What are the aims of the awards?
The competition aims to:
- increase transparency by rewarding best practice
in financial accounting
- raise the standard of web-based annual reports
and accounts
- encourage more charities to provide their
financial information online
Prizes will be given for online reports and accounts which
demonstrate the highest levels of accuracy and transparency, and
which communicate effectively with beneficiaries, donors and
stakeholders.
What criteria are used?
Availability
Are the report and accounts easy to find? Can they be found
within three clicks of the homepage, through a search facility or
site map?
Clarity
Is your charity's mission clearly stated? Is it easy to find
your charity's achievements?
Web friendliness
Is there a good balance of design, content and functionality?
Have graphs and pictures been used? Do your report and accounts
link to other areas of the website?
Accessibility
Is it easy to read? Is it available in downloadable PDF format
too? Is it accessible for the visually impaired?
Impact
Does your reporting demonstrate openness and transparency? Do
your reports tell a story, to draw your supporters into your
work?
