The CAF Effect 2008/09
Reporting on the impact of CAF’s work and our achievements from
May 2008 to April 2009.
The past twelve months of economic turmoil have
shown the critical role that charities play in providing vital
services to some of the most vulnerable people in our
communities.
The CAF Effect illustrates how the Charities Aid Foundation
(CAF) has contributed to the charitable sector during these testing
times.
During 2008-09, CAF distributed a record £372 million to
charitable activities on behalf of our generous and committed
donors.
We also saw many more charities deciding to deposit with CAF
Bank and we have continued to raise awareness of sector issues with
Government and others, including calling for greater protection of
charitable funds.
We are grateful for the support of the many individuals,
companies and charities we work with in the UK and internationally.
In the face of uncertain times, we shall continue to do all we can
to safeguard the interests of the third sector.
