X Factor contestants to release single for Great Ormond Street
Hospital
26 October 2009
A group of contestants from
TV talent show X Factor will record a charity single set for
release next month.
The 12 contestants are in the process of recording a version of
the late Michael Jackson's You Are Not Alone in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Last year, an X Factor single brought in more than £1 million
for Help the Heroes.
Judge Simon Cowell said: "This year we chose to work with Great
Ormond Street to help raise funds and awareness for their
incredible work.
"I'm very proud of the single and I really hope it raises an
enormous amount of money for people who really need our help."
It is thought the singers will perform the song on X Factor on
15 November, before it goes on sale the following day.
Meanwhile, King's College Hospital and Great Ormond Street
Hospital for Children teamed up last week on 22 October to open a
new centre for small bowel transplants.
The centre is only the second of its kind in the UK, the charity
notes.
