Invitation to a one-day conference on ‘Charity funding and
the new Government’
A choice of three venues:-
Central Hall Westminster - 1 July
West Yorkshire Playhouse -13 July
National Motorcycle Museum, Birmingham - 15 July
Charities Aid Foundation is pleased to be a partner in this year’s
ACEVO Funding Roadshow conferences which you are warmly invited to
attend. This year, the events focus on ‘Charity funding and the new
Government’ and provide an important opportunity to meet the
leading statutory, lottery and trust funders and key Government
representatives including:
-
Minister for Civil Society, Nick Hurd MP
-
Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, the Rt
Hon Iain Duncan Smith MP
-
Minister for Arts and Heritage, Ed Vaizey MP
-
Ministers and officials invited from Health, Social Care,
Education and International Development
...who will address the launch conference in London on 1
July.
As in previous years, the entire event will be repeated (subject to
variation in speakers, with officials representing Government
departments) in Leeds on 13 July and Birmingham on 15 July.
The conference has been timed to follow the Emergency Budget (22
June) and will examine its implications for our sector. It is
presented by Action Planning and ACEVO in association with the
Charity Finance Directors' Group, Charities Aid Foundation and the
Big Lottery Fund, whose Chief Executive, Peter Wanless, will
deliver a keynote address to the launch. You can also meet Big's
Regional Directors in Leeds and Birmingham.
There will be expert analysis and practical advice from a wide
range of organisations including ACEVO (Peter Kyle and Seb
Ellsworth), CFDG, the Centre for Social Justice, and Action
Planning. This event should help you to:
-
develop an understanding of the Coalition Government's third sector
strategy, and how this will be reflected in the funding programmes
of individual departments
-
maximise your chances of retaining existing contracts by
demonstrating the impact of your work
-
capitalise on new opportunities, such as the personalisation agenda
and the sector’s role in delivering the Big Society
-
diversify your income sources, for instance through creating earned
income streams, accessing more trusts and foundations, or securing
more wealthy individuals as major donors
There will also be a major session on online fundraising and
communications strategy led by Ted Hart, one of the world’s most
respected gurus in online fundraising, who has agreed to fly from
the United States especially to address all three conferences.
The attendance fee of £136 includes lunch, all
presentation materials and a networking reception. You can book
online and request an invoice here
or complete the form on the conference
brochure.
We very much look forward to welcoming you and your colleagues to
one of these three events.
