INTRODUCING OUR IMPACT REPORT 2018

22 November 2018

As one of the first social investment funds, established in 2002, we are extremely proud of what we and our investees have achieved since then.

We are now delighted to be able to introduce our Impact Report 2018.

We have made more than 583 social investments, supporting 457 social organisations; committing over £48M of philanthropic capital from 130 generous funders.

HERO IMPACT REPORT780

We launched our report at an event at the Conduit in London this week.   The Conduit is one of London’s newest members’ clubs and it serves as a home for a diverse community of people passionate about social change.   At CAF Venturesome we are certainly passionate about social change and we know that our funders and investees are too.   We were joined by philanthropists and representatives of social organisations from right across the country for an evening of lively conversation and inspiration.

We heard from two of our lovely investees, HISBE and the Tall Ships Youth Trust, who shared their stories and demonstrated how social investment from CAF Venturesome can positively impact lives and create lasting change.

Ruth and Amy Anslow sisters and co-founders of HISBE, an ethical supermarket in Brighton, told our guests how their vision to offer local produce to local people was achieved with a social investment of £10,000 from CAF Venturesome’s SE-Assist Fund. They praised the support they received from the CAF Venturesome team as they’ve grown and their plans to open a second store with a further social investment of £60,000 from our Development Fund.

Richard Leaman-Grey, CEO of Tall Ships, introduced us to Josh who told us how his life had been transformed by Tall Ships; from a teenager with little hope, going in the wrong direction, to a proud young man, studying at university, inspiring and leading young people in his community.

We’re dedicated to helping social enterprises and charities secure the flexible loans and other social investment they need to sustain and grow their social impact.   We have exciting plans for the future, which we believe will strengthen the partnership between philanthropy and social investment, ensuring that social organisations can be more resilient.   CAF Venturesome will continue to be at the heart of the social investment market and hope to reach our ultimate goal of seeing stronger social organisations sustaining and growing their social impact.

Of course, if your organisation needs some social investment to build a brighter future or if you’d like to discuss how CAF Venturesome can help give your philanthropy more impact, you can always pick up the phone and speak to a member of the team on 03000 123 300.
