DESCRIBE YOUR JOURNEY INTO YOUR CURRENT ROLE AT CAF:
I began my career working as an investment banker at Deutsche Bank, covering the Financial Institutions sector within the EMEA region. It was during my time at Deutsche Bank that I realised I craved for first-hand experience with different communities, cultures and socio-economic environments, and subsequently took a career break to pursue this. These first-hand encounters gained through my travels directed my focus towards an impact-led career in the social sector, and inspired me to apply for my previous role with the On Purpose programme. The programme enabled me to develop my knowledge and skills on the social sector through working at Faro Energy (Latin America focused solar financing start-up) and the British Science Association (science-centric charity based in South Kensington).
I became aware of CAF Venturesome during my time with the On Purpose programme and was initially intrigued by its philanthropic approach. Having gone through the interview process and meeting the team, it was quite clear to me that this was where I wanted to be.
WHAT TYPES OF CAUSES ARE YOU MOST ATTRACTED TO?
(Un)Fortunately my interests do not converge on a single sector / cause, I am keen to engage with and assist organisations in all shapes and sizes. It is one of the reasons why this role at CAF Venturesome is the perfect fit for me.
