Rhodri Davies

Rhodri Davies

Head of Policy

Rhodri leads Giving Thought, our in-house think tank focusing on current and future issues affecting philanthropy and civil society. Rhodri has spent nearly a decade specialising in public policy around philanthropy and the work of charities, and has researched, written and presented on a wide range of topics. He has a first-class degree in Mathematics and Philosophy from the University of Oxford.   Read more about Rhodri

Ashleigh Milson

Ashleigh Milson

Senior Campaigns and Public Affairs Manager

Ashleigh leads our campaigns and public affairs team, focusing on delivering campaigns that promote giving and improve the climate for charities in the UK and internationally.  Ashleigh previously worked at the charity Guide Dogs on campaigns related to improving the lives of people with sight loss. She holds an undergraduate degree from SOAS (University of London) and a post-graduate diploma in Public Affairs from the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR).

Daniel Ferrell-Schweppenstedde

Daniel Ferrell-Schweppenstedde

Policy Manager

Daniel's focus includes challenging the closing space for civil society, enabling positive environments for charities and the global development goals. Previously Daniel worked at the Directory of Social Change and RAND Europe. Daniel has experience of international development in Cambodia and working with the Mercator Foundation. Daniel is originally from Germany and holds a Master’s degree in Public Policy from the Hertie School of Governance and a BA/BSc in Public Administration from the University of Twente and Munster.

Gráinne Mathews

Gráinne Mathews

Senior Campaigns and Public Affairs Officer

Gráinne leads our Groundwork for Growing Giving campaign, aimed at growing a global culture of giving to support the world’s poorest. She also leads the Giving Tuesday campaign in the UK, a global movement aimed at promoting good causes the Tuesday after Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Gráinne previously worked for the Woodland Trust and has held a number of other communications and public affairs roles for over 8 years.

Bruce works in our campaigns and public affairs team to deliver campaigns, events and other engagement with political audiences relating to charities and philanthropy.

Cleodie Rickard

Cleodie Rickard

Policy and Public Affairs Executive

Cleodie supports the team across policy, public affairs and campaigns. She previously worked on developing institutional partnerships for Save the Children UK, with a focus on Middle Eastern institutions and multilateral development banks. This followed an internship centred around Muslim Giving and philanthropy in the Gulf region. Cleodie graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2018 with a first class degree in Arabic and Middle Eastern studies; she spent her year abroad living and studying in the West Bank, Palestine, where she volunteered for two East Jerusalem NGOs.
