David Stead 500


David Stead is a leader in business and philanthropy, and leads CAF’s philanthropy and development directorate. 

His teams work with private client, family and corporate donors globally to help them achieve their goals for philanthropy, corporate responsibility and social investment.

They provide expert advice and design client solutions to help major donors and companies give in the most effective ways, generating hundreds of millions of pounds in donations per year for charities around the globe.

The charity advisory and programmes team helps charities plan and grow strategically, and provides governance, grant-making and legacy services.

David is a Trustee of Wave Trust and sits on various other charity, award and grant-making boards.

David has been in his current position at CAF since November 2013, having joined from top-tier legal firm 11KBW where he was CEO. With a background in commercial development, he has held senior positions at a number of major organisations, including Eversheds, Accenture, KPMG and UBS.
As well as an MBA from IESE, David holds a BSc (Hons) from Cass Business School.

David’s special interests include collaborative solutions for greater social impact, accelerating the effective flow of resources between the private and social sectors, and building the resilience of smaller charities.   David is a Trustee of Wave Trust and sits on various other Charity, Award and Grant-making boards.
