The awards have been set up to recognise commercial companies who provide fair, safe and ethical services.

There are 19 categories in total including Pro Bono Company, Ethical Business, Ethical Investment Fund and Technology Provider of the Year.

CAF has been shortlisted in the Bank of the Year category alongside highly regarded competition including Barclays, Charity Bank, C. Hoare & Co, and Handelsbanken.

The Better Society 2015 judging panel includes Simon Gillespie, CEO of the British Heart Foundation; Jennie Langrish, Chair of responsible investment charity ShareAction; Paul Palmer, Professor of Voluntary Sector Management at the Cass Business School and Matt Richie, Editor of the Charity Times Magazine.

The awards will be presented at a gala ceremony and dinner on 14 May 2015 at the Millennium Hotel in Mayfair, London hosted by one of the top names in comedy.

Peter Ostacchini, Chief Executive of CAF Bank, said: "We are delighted to have been recognised in this way.  CAF Bank prides itself on being the specialist banker for the charity sector providing a full banking service based on a thorough understanding of the needs of the third sector.  Because we are owned by a charity ourselves everything we do is aimed at making the charitable sector stronger."
