CHARITY AWARDS 2012 SHORTLIST

A floating classroom for London’s children; a Welsh choir for cancer patients; a new financial services scheme in Uganda; and a project to conserve the meadows of the Yorkshire Dales are just some of the 32 charities shortlisted in The Charity Awards 2012.

The Charity Awards, which announced its shortlist today (3 May) is the charity world’s most prestigious excellence recognition programme. All 32 shortlisted charities this year have been judged by a highly respected independent panel as having demonstrated outstanding best practice from which other organisations can learn. 

The ten category winners, plus the recipients of the Overall Award for Excellence and the Outstanding Leadership Award, will be announced at a dinner on 14 June at Grosvenor House, London. The black-tie evening will be hosted by BBC’s John Inverdale, who will be joined by representatives of the shortlisted charities, alongside a ‘who’s who’ of charity leaders and celebrities from the worlds of theatre, television, music and sport.
