Kings Hill charity takes to the phones for Red Nose Day

13 March 2015

More than 65 staff at the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) based in Kings Hill, West Malling, Kent, are volunteering to receive calls for Red Nose Day today (March 13).

CAF's award-winning Customer Services team, as well as other CAF employees, will be answering calls during the show as thousands of viewers phone in to give money to the cause, making the charity an official call centre for the night for the 4th year in a row.

CAF staff will be taking calls from 6.30pm until midnight, as the evening of comedy and fundraising airs from 7pm on BBC One.

Comic Relief has raised over £960million which has gone towards changing the lives of people in the UK and across Africa.

CAF is a global charity, which promotes charitable giving and provides financial services and social finance to not-for-profit organisations, with just over 350 employees based in its head office in Kings Hill, West Malling.

For Comic Relief last year, CAF staff raised over £1,000 in fundraising events during the day and in the evening helped towards the total £71.8m raised.

Hannah Brinning, Customer Services Manager (Contact Centre) at CAF, who is coordinating the evening, said: “I’m thrilled that CAF is once again able to support one of the biggest fundraising nights of the year.

“We know from our research that these kinds of events are crucial in getting large numbers of the public engaged with vital causes, who may not otherwise be aware of the work of charities.

“As a charity, it’s important to practise what we preach, and great to see so many staff giving up their time for the cause.”
