15 March 2013
More than 50 staff at the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) based
in Kings Hill, West Malling, Kent, are once again volunteering to
receive calls for Red Nose Day today (March 15).
CAF's award-winning Customer Services team, as well as other CAF
employees, will be offering call centre support during the show as
thousands of viewers pick up their phones to make donations.
The night of comedy and fundraising kicks off at 7pm on BBC One,
and CAF staff will be taking calls from 6.30pm until midnight.
They will also be raising money through a cake sale and holding
a ‘worst dressed’ competition in the office during the day.
The money raised by the public helps people living unimaginably
tough lives, both at home in the UK and Africa.
CAF is a global charity, which promotes charitable giving and
provides financial services and social finance to not-for-profit
organisations, with around 350 employees based in its head office
in Kings Hill, West Malling.
For Sport Relief last year, CAF staff raised £2,400 in
fundraising events during the day and in the evening helped towards
the total £52m raised the event.
Glen Brooks, Customer Contact Manager at CAF, who is organising
the evening, said: “I’m thrilled that CAF is once again able to
support one of the biggest fundraising events of the year.
“It’s great that so many staff are willing to help out and I’m
really looking forward to what’s looking to be a really exciting
evening.
“As a charity, it’s important that we practise what we preach
and help staff within CAF, as well as our customers, support the
causes they care about.”
