The Charities Aid Foundation today praised the contribution of
high-profile donors to charity, as the Sunday Times published
first details of its annual Giving List, which outlines some of
the country's largest contributions to good causes.
John Low, Chief Executive of the Charities Aid Foundation, which
promotes charitable giving and provides financial services and
social finance to not-for-profit organisations, said: "It's very
good news that so many of Britain's most successful people are
continuing to make such generous contributions to the causes we all
care about.
"At a time when many charities are fearing for the future and
are facing pressure on finances and ever-increasing demands for
their work, it's vital that people give what they can to back
Britain's charities and allow them to continue their vital
work.
"It's great to see successful entrepreneurs and high profile
people from the worlds of business, sport and entertainment
supporting charities. Their example helps to build the nation's
culture of giving, of which we should all be proud."
