Staff at the
Charities Aid Foundation - which has its headquarters in West
Malling, Kent - helped to bring in £37,000 for Sport Relief last
week.
CAF employees raised £2,182 themselves, through a range of fun
fundraising activities such as a mile run, ‘Strictly CAF Dancing’
and the ‘CAF Olympics’.
Over 70 CAF employees also volunteered to run a call centre at
CAF HQ to field many of the thousands of calls made by the UK
public to pledge money to Sport Relief on Friday 23 March - as the
popular BBC TV programme went out over the airwaves.
They took over 1,000
calls and took £34,706 worth of donations in the process.
CAF, which is a national charity that exists to promote greater
and more effective giving, employs around 350 staff at its West
Malling site.
CAF Customer Contact Assistant Manager Hannah Brinning said: “I am
thrilled that CAF has played such a full and active part in what is
one of the biggest fundraising events on the calendar.”
