KEY BARRIERS TO THE ADOPTION OF GIFT AID

Gift Aid has long been a vital source of revenue for many charities, yet a belief has remained within the voluntary sector that more could be done to make it easier for charities to make full use of the opportunity.

CAF and HMRC decided to work together on a piece of research to understand what the main opportunities might be. Consequently a qualitative research project was conducted, alongside the Gift Aid consultation of 2007, which involved forty six charities, as well as six intermediary organisations (who help charities administer tax efficient giving), and five organisations with expertise in developing policy in the voluntary sector.

This research report, “Key Barriers to the Adoption of Gift Aid” written by Ipsos MORI, explains the findings from this research.
