THE POTENTIAL IMPACT OF A CAP ON CHARITY TAX RELIEF

The Government’s decision to cap tax relief on charity donations would have cost British society up to £1.5 billion a year, according to this research.

The study - commissioned by CAF and carried out by Oxford Economics, the leading economic forecasting consultancy - analysed studies into the value of charitable work, to assess the potential impact of the proposed tax relief cap on civil society.

Following this research CAF successfully campaigned for the the charity tax cap to be abandoned.
