Malcolm was appointed Non-Executive Director in September 2016 and is Chair of the Board Audit Committee.

An FCA, in his early career with Coopers & Lybrand he specialised in computer auditing and moved to Australia taking responsibility for the team in Melbourne. In this period he was President of the Information Systems and Control Association in Melbourne.

Subsequently his career as a Chief Auditor at National Australia Bank, NatWest and Barclays led to roles in risk and compliance. These included Risk Director for Barclays Retail business and Group AML Director, also at Barclays.

As an interim management contractor he held senior governance roles at Aviva, Abbey National, Resolution, Barclaycard and RBS. At British Arab Commercial Bank he was Head of Audit and a member of the Executive Committee during a change of control and under Libyan ownership worked through the difficulties generated by the Libyan revolution.

Malcolm has in the past been a member of the BBA Chief Internal Auditors Committee and member of  HM Treasury Money Laundering Advisory Committee.
