Stephen Potts

Transformation Director, CAF Bank

Stephen joined CAF Bank in February 2022 as Director of Transformation, bringing over 25 years of experience in Financial Services.  He is responsible for the programme underway to re-platform our core banking system, across the back and front office, which encompasses a complete end-to-end replacement of all the Bank's IT systems.  As well as stewarding this wide-reaching programme, Stephen is also focused on ensuring CAF Bank is in a strong, sustainable position to serve the evolving banking needs of charities well into the future.

Stephen has spent most of his career in Change and Transformation, being drawn to large scale projects and programmes that provide a real challenge, as well as a genuine transformational outcome.  These projects include the separation of Northern Rock into two banks, the divestment of Direct Line from the RBS Group, and more recently an artificial intelligence venture between Google and HSBC.

Prior to joining CAF, Stephen’s career encompassed front-line roles in Corporate and Commercial Banking, Consulting, and in Risk and Regulatory focused leadership roles.

Off the clock: Stephen’s passion is motor racing, and he regularly campaigns historic machines on UK and European circuits.  He also enjoys football, being a (long-suffering) supporter of Sunderland AFC.
