Payment cut-off times

Browse the table below to see the cut-off times for each electronic payment type. These times take effect from 9 June 2025.

Cancelling future-dated Payments

Instruction received by CAF Bank by 3pm on the Working Day before the Payment is due to be sent.

CHAPS Payments or Faster Payments In Writing

To be processed on the same day - Instruction received by CAF Bank by 3pm.

Online banking - Bulk Payments

Fully authorise by 4pm for same day Payment. If fully authorised shortly after 4pm, the Payment will typically debit the next Working Day.

After the cut-off time, the approval option will no longer be available. If not fully authorised by then, the original Bulk Payment request must be rejected and a new Payment request submitted.

Online banking - Faster Payments and CHAPS Payments

Fully authorise by 4pm for same day payment. If fully authorised after 4pm, the Payment will typically debit the next Working Day.

Payments within EEA

To be processed on the same day - Instruction received by CAF Bank by 1pm.

Hints and tips

 

  • Make sure there’s enough money in your account to cover any Payments.
  • Make sure all Payments are fully authorised before you submit them by the specified cut-off time, to avoid delays.
  • Fully authorised Faster Payment instructions we receive after a specified cut-off time are typically processed the next Working Day.
  • Payments go through standard security checks after they’re authorised. Please allow two hours for the checks to be completed or we will contact you.
  • The CHAPS and Faster Payment services are open for Payments on Working Days only, within our working hours.
