Tell us about your support needs

We want to remove any barriers you may have when interacting with us – to make banking easier for you.

If you need extra support, such as us speaking slower over the phone or receiving letters in larger print, please let us know, so we have the tools to help you.

You only need to tell us once. We will make the changes, where we can. And put your preferences on your individual record to keep in mind whenever we interact with you. If your circumstances change, just let us know so we can update your preferences.

We understand that everyone has different needs, which is why we are actively updating our list. If your need is not listed, let us know and we will try our best to help.

Understanding and memory


  • I may forget things, so please remind me if needed
  • I would appreciate support in understanding numbers and information
  • I need help in checking the purpose of transactions to make decisions
  • Please check that I have understood by asking me to summarise
  • I would like information written down, so please follow up in writing after we speak
  • I need support with using technology

Timing options


  • I may need more time on calls
  • I may need more time to respond or complete tasks
  • I would prefer to be called only in the morning
  • I would prefer to be called only after midday

 

Written communications


  • I would prefer emails or letters instead of verbal communication
  • I would prefer communications to be sent in print
  • I would prefer forms to be sent in Word format
  • I would prefer my letters to be in large print (16pt to 36pt)
  • I would prefer my letters to be in bold text

 

Speaking and listening


  • Please speak slowly and clearly
  • Please speak loudly, if possible
  • My voice may sound different from what you expect
  • My speech may be affected, so please allow me time to respond
