The waiting came to an end recently when over 700 people
gathered at the Grosvenor House Hotel for a glitzy ceremony to see
the best of the charitable sector win the Charity Awards
2013.
CAF Venturesome
client, PEAS (Promoting Equality in African
Schools) was presented with the prestigious Overall Winner award as
well as the International Aid and Development Award.
Established only five years ago by founder and CEO John Rendel,
PEAS aims to permanently widen access to high quality education in
Africa by building, developing and running a network of sustainable
secondary schools.
Since launching in 2008, it has built 21 secondary schools in
Uganda and one in neighbouring Zambia, producing 542 graduates so
far.

John Low, Chief Executive at the Charities Aid Foundation,
commenting on the winners of the Charity Awards 2013 in his speech

CAF Drinks reception
As overall partner of the Charity Awards 2013 CAF took the
opportunity to congratulate all the nominees at a pre-dinner drinks
reception. Around 90 guests gathered to celebrate the effort,
tenacity and innovation demonstrated by all of the nominated
charities.
