Some key findings from the report:

  • 2.3 billion people helped someone they didn’t know in 2014 – including 79% of the adult population in the US
  • 1.4 billion people donated money – including 91% of adults in Myanmar
  • A further one billion people volunteered their time
  • Only five G20 countries feature in the top 20 biggest givers, suggesting wealth is no guarantee of generosity
  • The giving spirit is growing faster in Malaysia than it is anywhere else in the world
