The Humanitarian Technology Trust is focused on advancing open-source humanitarian technology through local manufacturing. We believe that empowering local manufacturers is the best way to ensure life-saving technologies reach the communities that need them most. Our first major project is supporting the OpenFlexure Microscope—a laboratory grade, digital, robotic microscope. Recently recommended by the World Health Organisation as an innovative health technology for low-resource settings, the microscope has demonstrated its potential to revolutionise diagnosis of conditions such as malaria and cancer in low resource areas.
