Sir Edward Braham

Chair of CAF Trustees

Sir Edward has been Chair of Charities Aid Foundation since July 2025. In addition to this role, he also serves as Chair of M&G plc, an international savings and investments company and before that, was Senior Partner of Freshfields, the global law firm . While Senior Partner, Edward headed the firm’s strategic growth in the US, including establishing a new office in Silicon Valley. He also led on culture, diversity and ESG. Edward was a leading international M&A lawyer, with experience in many industries including financial services. He served as a non-executive director of TheCityUK and continues to Chair TheCityUK’s the International Financial Centre Group. Edward is Chair of The Lord Mayor’s Appeal Board of Trustees, a non-executive member of HM Treasury and its Audit and Risk and Nominations Committees and a Commissioner on the Global Commission for Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking.
