Maximise visibility of your online donation form

Learn how to add donation widgets and ‘Donate’ buttons to your website and create a shareable link that takes donors straight to your donation form.

How to add a donation widget

A donation widget can be embedded within the pages of your own website to provide your donors a seamless donation experience. The benefit is that that your donors remain on your website throughout the process rather than having to click through to an external page. 

1.  Log in to CAF Donate

Go to your account and click Manage your additional campaigns on the right-hand side.


2.  Generate your widget code

Find the campaign you want, then select Widget code under Embed Donation Pages.
A pop-up will display the code.


3.  Add the widget to your site

Copy and paste the code into your website’s HTML where you want the form to appear. If your website is managed by an external organisation, simply supply them with the widget HTML code so that they can add it for you.

How to add a 'Donate' button

A simple ‘Donate’ button can appear on any page of your site. Choose the style in the Brand look and feel tab when setting up your campaign.

1.  Log in to CAF Donate

Click Manage your additional campaigns.

2.  Get your button code

Scroll to your campaign and select Donate button code under Embed Donation Pages.
A preview will appear in a pop-up.


3.  Add the button to your site

If you’re happy with the preview, click Generate Donate Code.
Copy and paste the code into your site’s HTML.

Top tip
Place a ‘Donate’ button on every page - top right is ideal - so donors never have to search.

Create a shareable donation link

A direct link to your donation form is perfect for sharing in emails, social posts, or apps.

1.  Log in to CAF Donate

Click Manage your additional campaigns.


2.  Get your link

Scroll to your campaign and select Donate Link URL under Embed Donation Pages.
A pop-up will display the link.


3.  Share it anywhere you want your donors to see it

Simply copy and paste the link into your emails, content, apps etc.
