THE VALUE OF GIVING TUESDAY

Why does Thomson Reuters take part?

As a large global company with offices in over 100 countries, Giving Tuesday is a great campaign to align Thomson Reuters messaging and remind people of the volunteering and giving programmes available. It also gives them the chance to encourage employees to get involved with their local communities in ways that suit them.

They also use it as an opportunity to celebrate and thank their employees for everything they’ve done throughout the year to support local and global efforts, whether they’ve volunteered, fundraised or organised events as part of their roles leading Thomson Reuters employee networks.

HOW DID THOMSON REUTERS GET INVOLVED IN GIVING TUESDAY?

In previous years, Thomson Reuters has donated their Jumbotron screens in Canary Wharf and New York to support the growth of the Giving Tuesday campaign.

They also launched a 24 hour log-a-thon to encourage employees to log their volunteering hours and share their stories of how they use their volunteering time, encouraging stories of how charities are innovating and thinking differently to create a social impact.

Additionally, Thomson Reuters created and shared a video of all the community investment activities that their global employee networks get up to throughout the year.

Giving Tuesday has become a part of our Community Investment culture at Thomson Reuters. Across the globe our employees use the day to support the causes they’re passionate about through our programs and activities
