In 2014, we began working with a small Sussex-based charity. They help young people at risk of offending and re-offending by providing an innovative rehabilitation programme that has already proved its worth.
We worked with the charity for over a year, helping them during a crucial growth phase. During this time, their turnover rose from £65,000 per year to £190,000 per year. Tripling their income is not the whole - nor the end - of the story though.
According to A Band of Brothers, working with CAF has been vital. The team has supported them over a critical period in their development and brought some key benefits:
- Providing an objective eye to assess how they articulate what they do; enabling them to become more successful at communicating with a wider range of funders - and stakeholders in general
- The workshops provided a valuable space and frame within which they were able to bring trustees and the Executive together. This raised some important issues which have strengthened and unified the organisation.
- Acted as a critical friend – raising issues of concern such as lack of capacity at the core which (whilst we have yet to find a way of addressing some of them) have kept a focus on the bigger strategic picture.
