CAF COMMENT: PENNY MORDAUNT'S SPEECH ON GLOBAL BRITAIN

22 June 2018

Yesterday the International Development Secretary laid out the Government’s plans for delivering a Global Britain.

Rhodri Davies, Head of Policy at Charities Aid Foundation, said: “We believe Britain’s civil society has an important role to play in promoting a truly Global Britain. Many countries look to Britain as a leader in this area.

“As the International Development Secretary notes, the Government cannot deliver Global Britain alone, but only in partnership with a broad range of public and civil institutions.

“In addition, the emerging middle classes continue to grow rapidly in developing nations. CAF’s work shows that if they give at the same rate as people in the UK, by 2030 a further $319 billion a year could go to good causes.”
