WANT TO DONATE TO THE AUSTRALIAN BUSHFIRE CRISIS?
CAF MAKES IT EASIER FOR YOU
20 January 2020
The Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) has made it easier for members of the public to donate to the ongoing Australian bushfire crisis, it announces today.
Working with its Australian partner, Good2Give, CAF has made it possible to get much needed donations across to Australia without international payment fees.
Generous members of the public can give a minimum of £20 upwards to an agreed list of 27 Australian charities.
So far the fires have destroyed more than 3,000 homes and at least 28 people have died. It’s estimated that 1 billion animals have been killed as a result of the fires.
Around 18 million acres have been burned across Australia's six states – an area larger than the countries of Belgium and Denmark combined.
Sir John Low, Chief Executive of CAF said the following. “We have all been deeply saddened by the raging bushfires in Australia, as well as the cost to human and animal life.
“As the crisis continues, we’re pleased to be able to make it simpler for people in the UK to donate to some of the brilliant charities tackling this crisis on the ground.”
The charities are split across three main cause areas, which are the General Bush Fire Appeal, the Firefighters Appeal and the Animal Appeal. Some of the charities who stand to benefit include the Salvation Army, RSPCA Australia and the New South Wales Rural Fire Service.
